Clear dates.
Confident plans.
A small reference for a surprisingly tricky question.
“Is it a working day in China?” A weekday alone cannot always answer that. National holiday breaks can move rest days around, and a Saturday or Sunday can become an official workday.
China Public Holidays is an independent English-language reference for travelers, expats and people working with teams in mainland China. We put holiday breaks and adjusted working days together, so the full picture is easier to see.
What we cover
Nationwide public holiday arrangements in mainland China, the officially designated working weekends, and a date checker built on the same data. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan use separate schedules and are outside this calendar’s coverage.
Clarity includes saying “not confirmed.”
Our 2026 schedule is based on the State Council’s annual notice. Our 2027 page stays provisional until we verify the corresponding official notice. We distinguish reference festival dates from confirmed days off and do not invent makeup days.
Independent, simple and private
This project is not affiliated with the Chinese government. There are no ads, accounts or analytics in v1. The calendar and date checker run in your browser; dates you check are not submitted to us. Hosting providers may process routine access logs.
For an organization’s hours, confirm directly with that organization. A national holiday schedule cannot replace a branch timetable, an employer’s rota or a carrier’s service notice.
